| web sites
Below are links to web sites I have worked on.
Most of them are new sites I created from concept to launch; one
is an established site I have been maintaining for several years.
In addition to designing new web sites, I offer:
• domain name purchasing
• web site hosting
• site maintenance (on new or existing
sites)
• improving/redesigning existing sites
• basic search engine optimization
and web site marketing to increase traffic to your site and make
it visible to search engines.

costs, go to the info page. |

A series of oral history projects about the South
and its food by The Southern Foodways Alliance, Tabasco™ and
Viking™. These sites feature interactive maps, audio clips
and bold, distinct graphics within an overall design "template".
The look means to convey classic "Greetings From..." postcards
sent from the Trails.
The Mississippi
Historical Society recently awarded this Tamale Trail project
the 2006 award for Outstanding Oral History Project. |

|
www.beyondbirthmidwiferycare.com | Boulder CO
Certified Nurse-Midwives who provide expert guidance during the transition from hospital to home and establish a solid foundation for successful parenting. Services are for moms, new babies and benefit the entire family. Web site is warm and inviting while at the same time very professional and comprehensive. |

|
www.maryandbenwedding.com | Longmont CO
It's my own wedding! Holy @*%$! The site's far from done (it will be just another simple 9-V "just the facts, ma'am" situation when complete...) but a swank looking one! And one that'll bear the good news of a fantastic reason to party! I post it unfinished because, well, I just couldn't wait... |

|
www.intuitivemassagetherapy.biz | Longmont CO
Massage therapist Darlene Rooney needed a small, quiet, very simple site that advertised her massage services as peaceful and grounded. The site has a simple animated baner at the top of its home page that "breathes" its message quietly – the site is very easy to navigate, clear and flowing. |

|
www.kellyballard.com | Lafayette CO
Kelly is a lighthearted, warm-spirited, intuitive soul dedicated to helping others expand their opportunities for personal and spiritual growth in a safe environment. Her site features the same warmth and professionalism she pours in her practice. Features: RSS Blog; Podcasts; Newsletters; Client-driven Autoresponders; E-commerce; Immediate MP3 downloads. |
|
|
www.ecobydesign.net
| Santa Cruz CA
Landscape designer and business owner Treesa Rogerson
wanted her 50+ photograph portfolio front and center. We decided
to incorporate it directly into the home page in an attractive and
unique layout. The "tree" of project thumbnails opens
to detailed photographs, which are organized in interactive windows
for easy viewing. |
|
|
www.coatesdentaldds.com | Greensboro NC
Greensboro dentist Brian Coates needed
a professional, but very inviting site for his growing dental
practice. The photo does his advertising for him: he sells smiles. Some
basic search engine optimization and well named pages have been
the key to his getting local traffic from the first week is site
went live. |
|
|
www.sweetdreamsandspice.com | New York NY
A raw foods company specializing nutritious
treats made from organic ingredients from all over the world.
Although subtle, choosing creative names for the site's pages
(or links) helped create the green, earthy and viable personality
they had in mind. (Site is poised for e-commerce; online sales
are postponed as owners reconfigure their costs.) |
|
|
www.scottavett.com
| Charlotte NC
Artist Scott Avett's web site called
for a clean, understated design that would effectively showcase
but not upstage his paintings. This site features a simple
to use, intuitive portfolio page.
|
|
|
www.lupusadvocacy.org | Ann Arbor MI
An online information hub for Lupus
advocacy, featuring an extensive resource page with related links,
contanct information, surveys, news and various calls to action
-- including a Lupus awareness online survey. |
|
|
www.ennisart.net
| Charlotte NC
This site is a portfolio-based "brochure"
site advertising creative concrete and interior installation solutions
by Tom Schulz. Because Schulz is as much artist as a contractor,
I wanted this site to present Schulz as enormously creative and
clearly confident in a construction site. |
|
|
www.zambratapas.com
| Asheville NC
A site for an upscale, friendly Spanish
tapas restaurant. The home page is warm and social, immediately
indicative of the restaurant's vibe. Site has a simply designed,
editable home page that can be changed easily by the manager, who
often needs to post updates, new menus, and party announcements.
|
|
|
www.empathinc.com | Charlotte NC
Part gallery, part interactive forum
for all things "Empathinc", this site has hosted numerous
artists and successfully generated PR blitzes and announcements
about upcoming events to its mailing list. |
|
|
www.southernfoodways.com | Oxford MS
Nationally heralded non-profit The
Southern Foodways Alliance's web site is an essential communication
tool. I maintain and add to its 100+ pages. Jobs include: writing
copy, creating artwork, and technical assistance. All artwork
and copy are successfully created within the established tone
and look of the site. |
|
|
EstaSweet.com | Birmingham MI
Just a few pages was all this site
needed. It's an eye-catching "brochure" site for Jim
Huston's Esta-Sweet onion. The site has been built with growing room in mind and can be added to easily as Jim's needs change. |
|
|
www.coburnandschulz.com
| New York NY
The objective here was, again, to showcase
the client's work. Clean, white and square (see
portfolio page) does not get in the way of the ornate, richly
textured work they advertise. Digital portfolios such as this one
are exceptional marketing tools. Anyone who can connect to the internet
can find you, browse unlimited projects (brochures have space limitations!)
and contact you easily and immediately. |
|
|
www.madarasdesign.com
Ann Arbor MI
Designer/builder Douglas Madaras needed
a web site and logo that described his signature style, something
he has termed "spatial sculpting." His interiors are flowing,
somewhat "zen" like and equally masculine and feminine
in feel. (This site is maintained by client.) |
|
|
www.milestone-ins.com
| Longmont CO
This insurance agency came to me with
a logo, brochure and corporate identity already in place. This simple,
4-page site was created directly from my "mimicking" their
company'es established identity. |
